my hips cause my back aches.
on Thursday, I felt pretty good so I decided to pull the dumpster to the road by hand. No need to start up the tractor, right ? our driveway is about 3oo feet long. when I got to the road, I was hurtin for certain .
I decided to call Annie to come pick me up with the car. whoops, no cell phone in my pocket. so it was baby steps all the way back to the house. Aleve bottle , here I come..
remind me to not accompany Annie to town to "pick up a few things" . I wasted the better part of a day. Not going with her today or tomorrow. I have too many things I need to get finished.

Any joint that 'out of joint' can throw the back off, usually from limping.
Learned 'gait training' from a PT long ago, it can really help.

Dumb@ss!! :smack Geez Jim, what were you thinking?

That's for sure!!
I learned way more from a good PT about keeping my muscles in balance.

Fortunately, I have a good one. He brought a condition under control that several different doctors in different states had previously tried to treat with muscle relaxers and opioid painkillers.

It wasn't atypical sciatica, it was bursitis. Adjustments, OTC anti-inflamatories, and ice under his supervision took me from "I can't walk" to "occasional twinges". But a bad one previously made a pinched nerve in my neck worse instead of better.

I had a great PT once for a frozen shoulder. He improved the pinched nerve for me though, since it was occupational (commercial sewer at the time), it couldn't be cured. The current chiropractor remarked on how much mobility I had in the shoulder that had been frozen. I hadn't even known that it usually results in permanent mobility problems but I have only a small disparity between the two sides.

One of my reasons for chickens is to keep me active as my joints age. 55 is really too early for this much arthritis, but my family is susceptible and the old injuries are troublesom. I know that the worst thing I can do is to stop moving.

I know aart, when I feel good, I should just accept it and not test it. (thump on the head)
I am waiting for hip replacements. All elective surgeries were called off because of this virus thingy..
When they call me , I am going to donate my spot to Annie. She is worse off than I am. I can ease my pain with pain pills. Tylenol and such.
as long as I can sit, there is no pain. So I do a lot of work from a lawn chair when I can.
as long as it is confession time, I am soon going to be 78. on 9/11
today I finished the second floor section.
I got the first section mounted on hinges. It works just great. pictures will be coming.
I have to get some redi-crete and make pads to level it . I tried bricks, but they didn't work so great.
I put a dozen pails in the tractor bucket and into the garage. frost is likely tonight. the smaller plants I just covered with tarps.

That just isn't fair.

And in case no one has said it to you for a while, you are a good man Jim.

In fact, I'm very glad to have met just about every person I've interacted with on this board. Such a group of helpful friendly folks as I've ever met. Thanks all of you.

Once your back is screwed the smallest things can knock it out of whack.
Usually tho muscles have been 'overworked' prior,
setting the trigger for that one little thing.
Been dealing with this for 40 years.
Yeah, it's been a long haul for me too. My muscles are very strong from all the lifting I do. But my discs, not so much.
Had to clean out a coop today. Banties have mites. In fact, I am going out pretty soon to treat the chickens and put them back in the coop I sprayed.
