I treat summer crappies like we do the fish when I was in Florida. I bleed them out .
I made a babbit from JB Weld. I hope it works
I have to wait until noon tomorrow for it to cure..
I bought a step drill bit from Menard's.
Paid too much for it, It chatters too much when I tried drilling with it. Am taking it back.
Lots of football this weekend.

Jim to the rescue.
Babbit is several different metal alloys. Non ferrous , (no steel) often something like lead and tin.
In the olden days, like on the shaft of a
saw rig. There was a dish-like area in the casting where the bearing would go. It had a hole in the bottom
. How it worked: the shaft would be shimmed within the bearing opening. then
the ends of the opening would be blocked off so nothing could leak out.
then the babbit material would be melted and poured into the hole where it would surround the shaft , thus creating a bearing/bushing..
I used a form around the bearing area of the stove door handle and filled it with JB Weld.. I had to grind off about .o15" to make it fit into the hole, In the end, it worked.

Dan came out and helped me put the bucket and back blade onto Ollie. Ollie is tucked into the garage waiting for the snow that is supposed to come Wed night/Thurs morning.
I have to check into the hospital at 5AM Thursday.
I won't be plowing any snow for about a month after that.
I moved the brewing beer onto the sunporch. It has to be kept at about 35F for a couple of weeks..
I have to make a bottling bucket in the mean time. I have the spout, just have to get at it..
