Helpful tool for understanding many colors

A long time back, Guitartists built a Punnett Square page to help visually explain various colors so people would have a better understanding of how certain genes work.

I thought it would be good to resurrect it so it would help our growing masses of chickeneers.

Me either. I'm afraid the chart didn't mean a lot to me either. What is a "split"? And yes, what doe the "L" and the "I" stand for?
