Don't forget: cold air sinks. I put ice on top of the coop right over the roost where they hang out...worked well. The roof is plywood. I only had those little plastic packs, but I think a couple of gallon jugs with a styrofoam cooler upside down over them would provide a nice chilling for nighttime...

LOVE LOVE LOVE the new mister I got....less than $10 from Walmart. I also run on well water and this ran the pump once in 4 hours, so the pressure is really nice on it.

I like to make my chickens a big bowl of shaved ice with some goodies in it like cracked corn or pieces of fruit or cucumber pcs. They love this on hot day and of coarse plenty of shade.
