Hen Broke/Chipped Her Beak

What is this about the toilet paper?
Did I miss something? Is she not able to drink from a water dish on her own?
What? I said I used a wetted down piece of toilet paper to clean dried food off her beak. When it dripped, she would catch the drops with her tongue and then she tried eating the paper while I was cleaning off her beak

okay…moving on…

How would I go about cleaning her beard? The mash is getting caked in it, lol.

I have an EE that has slovenly eating habits and she has a perpetually crusted beard. The other chickens try to help her out by cleaning her beard, but, alas, she only layers on more as she eats again, and for most of the year, has a scant beard from all the attempted "cleaning" by her mates.

I've tried washing her beard, but, aside from her hating the procedure, it does little good since the stuff hardens like cement and is impervious to soap and water.

Therefore, I can be of little help in this matter, being the keeper of such a chicken myself and being helpless to figure out what to do about such a slob.

Let the feed dry and then roll the feathers gently between your thumb and forefinger. The worst oof it should fall off then as dust.
If her diet has undergone a sudden change you may find you've got similar problems at the other end. Same thing. Let iit dry and roll the feathers.
Do not be tempted to bath her in water.

Eh, it'll probably wear off once you get her back with the flock, she'll take a dust bath😅
How much longer are you going to keep her caged up?
Could I let her out now? I’d have to make everyone’s food into mash until her beak heals, wouldnt I?

That's up to you if you want to let her out and see how she does.
You could make one bowl of mash for her to eat if she wishes.
I don't know what your feeder setup is like. I use feed cups, so provide both wet feed and dry feed for my flock.
