Hen carries chick under wing up to roost!

I tried to post a photo but it didn't work.

The roost is over five feet from the ground, and the ladder only goes up about 3 1/2 foot. The mama is carrying the chick under her wing and all the way to the back of the roost.

It's been a long time since I've posted on the BYC board, but my chickies continue to amaze me! :)

Holy cow! That is incredible!! I had no idea they could/would do that. But, the poor little chick looks bewildered .. like he doesn't know what he did to make mom drag him off to his room.
 
Are you certain hen is carrying chick? Hen can barely jump twice her height without flapping. Packing chick under wing would prevent flapping. Could chick be flying up on own?
