We have a hen that is about 4 months. This morning I went to let them out of coop & it sounded like she was crowing. The people we got her from said that she was a hen, but now I'm wondering if maybe they were wrong. She has been aggressive these last few days & has never layed any eggs.

Well, hens do crow sometimes, for different reasons, but at 4 months old it's most likely a cockerel...

Also, 4 months is still pretty young to lay eggs, so that wouldn't mean much any way

If you post a pic or 2, it would help - then we could see the bird in question

know how you feel. we bought 8 chicks 6 were "guarantee" pullets. then one of our hens started to crow, then another, then another, and yes another. so we have 4 out of 8. if you take pics and post them people on here can help u determine roo or pullet. make sure to get full body shot so they can see the tail. then shots of the comb and wattles too. good luck with your most likely roo.

Thanks for the info...I was kinda of thinking she may be a he..

one of my D'uccle hens crows when they are away from the rooster. It is actually amusing at this point~

I got the pics on My Page, but can't figure how to get them here, please help

I use photobucket, but I think you can do it if you click on Uploads on the blue bar up top of this page.
