My maran has been sitting on a clutch of eggs since 9/24, so a week. Going to let her hatch them. However, today when I collected eggs, she was sitting in a different nest box (one directly next to the box she was in). I don't know exactly when or how long she had been switched, but it had to have happened today (because when I shut the coop last night for bed, she was still in her original nest box). I picked her up and put her back in the original nest box and she sat and has not moved since. I believe one of the other hens probably bullied her out of her nest box, but that is just my guess. I guess the question is, would the original clutch of eggs still be cooking or did she wreck them by moving off them today? If the original clutch is no good, I'm thinking about grabbing just a few chicks to give to her.

If you can separate her that might be best. I had two broodies this year and ended up having to separate them both because the other hens kept laying in the broody's box and eggs were getting crushed.

I have the hubby working on a place for her. Will move her soon!
