Hen had a prolapsed vent a week ago, fixed that, and she laid 4 eggs over the course of 4 days. Thr

Update: she doesn't seem much better than yesterday. She is straining to use the bathroom and it is very runny with blood in it...there is also not a lot coming out. Could she be swollen inside? Yesterday evening she was eating and drinking especially well, but today she hasn't been.

Update: So my hen is still around, yeah! Last night I got some nutri-drench for her and gave it to her. She ate a little last night. This morning I checked on her and she had drunk some water, but she was panting a lot and hiding in the back of the crate. I decided to take her outside to let her have some fresh air, because what could that hurt, right? Well, she turned into a different hen outside. She even ran after some blueberries I dropped. Hopefully some air and walking around will help her. I am going to put her back to rest after lunch. Fingers crossed...she still has runny poop, but no blood.

She might perk up even more in a crate inside the doop with the other chickens. Some chickens get depressed away feom their flock, and won't eat normally. Egg binding can damage the vent, so that could be a cause for the blood you were seeing. My chickens love a mash of watery feed mixed with a bit of plain yogurt, egg, or sour cream. The NutriDrench is very good to give at 2-3 ml daily. I hope she feels better.

Update: Yesterday she was not herself, very withdrawn...even outside with her flock. Brought her back in and had to give her water, she wouldn't drink on her own. I think she knew the time was near. She passed during the night. Than you for your kind advice! Hopefully it will help someone else or if it ever happens in the future I will have a reference.

I am so sorry for your loss.
