So very sorry for your loss. I had a beautiful wheaten ameraucana that had to be culled because she was an internal layer. Her abdomen was so distended that she walked like a penguin. She never layed an egg. She acted normal but liked to spend time alone in the coop every day so that made me suspicious, maybe she did not feel well?? Making the decision to cull her was hard because she looked so healthy but I knew (based on previous experiences) that once this happens there is nothing you can do about it, it only gets worse so in my way of thinking, it is better to let them go rather than making them suffer any longer.
