Hen has foamy bubbles in her eyes!

aww shes beautiful!!! she doesnt look sick your right except for the bubbles i would just use the water soluble meds (tylan) im not sure of the dosage the onlty prob with water soluble is it doesnt dissolve as quickly you know she may just need her nostrils flushed out with saline

use a syringe and suck up the saline hold her upsidedown and squirt inside the nostril make sure she doesnt swollow any she might choke

 

[Three Cedars Silkies]

After a heavy rain with dropping temperature I had a silkie hen get bubbly eyes. I guess the wind blew the cold rain into their pen. It's the time of year for chicken viruses and bacteria...just like humans.

I brought her in the house for 2 days, started her on sulmet (I've GOT to get some water soluable Tylan this week). She's eating and drinking ok. I also started the entire pen of silkies that she came out of on the sulmet as well. I also put terramycin in her eyes each day. If you catch it early enough she should be fine!

Well, i got her in my room in a dog crate with food and water....since its Sunday the feed store and stuff is closed so i cant get the meds until tomorrow,

i wiped her eyes with a paper towel and got most of the bubbles out, but looking at her now they seem to have come back......

man she hates it in here, but its for her and her friends own good...

Oh, and she has no stuff coming out of her nose, if that is what you are meaning

Oh...it sometimes helps them to be happier and healthier to increase their protein with some chopped boiled egg and yogurt. Kinda' like chicken soup for people
