Hen has something on her neck

My daughter brought in a hen with this on her neck. I never noticed this before. Didn't know if this was normal or what it is. Was hoping someone can help identify this. She doesn't appear to be in any pain. Tia.

It is hard to tell what has caused that exactly. Do you have a rooster who might have grabbed her neck mating, or some agressive hens who might have pecked the neck area? You could clean the area with disinfectant and apply some antibiotic ointment or coconut oil. Sometimes in chickens, there can be tumors on the skin, or an ingrown feather cyst. Pecking might be the most obvious answer.
