Hen hatching

I only have one hen. How can I make a nesting area for her in my backyard ? How do i introduce her to it ?

A nest should be in the coop, where she will feel safe whilst laying. Putting fake eggs or golf balls in the nest would help encourage her to use it.

Ideally, since chickens are social animals, having a couple of chicken friends would be good for her.
