Hen is gurgling. Is this gapeworm or respiratory infection?

Hi,
I have a salmon faverolle pullet who started laying eggs a month or two ago. She has lice which I am in the process of treating. She now has a rattling/gurgling breath. It seems to be getting worse. the other day I had to bring them into the coop during the day and she ran and flew a little when I was bringing her in and it seemed to make it flare up quite a bit.

Yesterday she decided to go broody, I think, she has been sitting in the box skwaking at me whenever she sees me. But now when I get near her I can hear gurgling and rattling sounds when she breaths.

What do you think this is?

I might be able to upload a video but I'm not sure.
Any help is greatly appreciated. She is one of my favorites and I already lost her sister.

Sorry about her sister. :(
A video would definitely help. Upload it to YouTube and post the link here.

Is she eating/drinking ok?

I don't know if shes eating and drinking. I think she is. She's broody so she doesn't leave the nest much.
I will work on the video. I'm not positive I can do that but I'll see.

Well, first off, take her off the nest and bring her inside. Put her in your hospital crate and put some food and water in there. See if she eats. Offer treats as well. Chickens with gapeworms have their throats clogged essentially, so they typically don't eat/drink much. If she wolfs her treats/food down no problem I'd say it's probably respiratory.

Ok, I will try that =)

Thanks for the help!

Ok!
What makes you think its that and not gapeworm? I don't think your incorrect, I am just curious.

Gapeworm is rare first
Second is gapeworm.bird seems very very uncomfortable
She will shake her head and scratch it like she want to remove something that irritating her
She will Gape her neck higher in the air to take air for breath

Gapeworm infestation bird with heavy infestation didn't live more then 1 day if left untreated

GARGLING IS A SIGN OF RESPIRATORY INFECTION AT 2ND STAGE SO TREATING BIRD WITH BAYTRIL OR DOXYCYCLINE WORTH IT

The BEST test u can do for confirmation of gapeworm take your phone or a torch and see your chickens back of throat
If you see any bright Red lines shape of Y she have gapeworm if nothing u notice she's save

For gapeworm
Albendazole
And Levamisole is one of the best decision for saving bird within 72hrs

On natural prevention
Always use Mint oil or oregano oil in water to prevent gapeworm or any respiratory Infection :)

I agree with Saaniya, it's not gapeworm. Infected birds stretch their necks up in order to breathe. They dont eat nor drink and wont be broody simply because they are trying to breathe to stay alive. Gapeworms are killers.
If you're still not sure, take a fecal sample to a vet for analysis. Gapeworm eggs will be seen on the microscopic slide for sure.
