Hen keeps sitting down //Help//

Once staph gets into the bones, it's very unlikely an antibiotic will fix it. But you can hope. Likewise with a chronic reproductive infection. There is no way to diagnose or confirm that one way or the other, but your description of loss of feathers in the abdominal area plus red skin are symptoms of reproductive infection. If she hasn't laid eggs in a while, that's another symptom.

I would continue her antibiotic and hope for the best.

For how many days should I administer her condition? A week perhaps? If she doesn't get any better, I would like to cull her to end her pain. It aches my heart to see her in such a condition. I will try to remove her plug right now along with a warm soak in epsom salt for egg bound.
It indicates a sick chicken. Coccidiosis is always a possibility and it never hurts to go ahead and treat for it. Amprolium merely blocks thiamine so it isn't going to interfere with the antibiotic.
I treated them for coccidiosis just a month or two ago. Shall I start treatment for it again?

She has been with me for 2 hours and she still hasn't pooped yet.

I would only cull if there was no hope for her to recover. It took my hen almost a month of being sick to heal. She is now head hen and very happy. Try a bath and see if she lays or poops or if the bumble comes out.

My hope is that she is eating and drinking fine on her own. I dont have to force her to consume water and food.
Let's pray she gets better.
Since her foot pad is so swollen, would the plug be the only infection to take out?

What about the swollen red vent?

I think she will recover. That bumble is HUGE so she will need a soft spot to sleep and rest. I need a better pic of the vent. I know it is so hard to take pics of chickens but you are doing great! :thumbsup

Soft bedding... got it.
Her abdomen is hard... I know that is a bad sign regarding reproductive issues...
She is not walking in a penguin position unlike the other videos i have seen of hens with egg peritonitis.

Also both of you, thank you so much!
