I got 3 hens a year ago for Christmas. I was told they were 6-8 month old production hens but one (the one in question) looks more like a Rhode Island Red. Her name is Marcia. (The other two are Jan and Cindy). Well Marcia started laying in February and laid 33 eggs in 5 1/2 weeks (only missed 3 days in that time). They were beautiful dark brown eggs. And she hasn’t laid an egg since. Other than this she seems perfectly fine and healthy. She does encourage the others, often she is in the nest with them! But she has yet to lay another egg. Do y’all think she ever will? The only other difference is she seems a bit aloof. She’ll be the last one to come when they come for treats, or slowly walking into the run when they go in. In her own world but probably just her personality.

She's either taking a break due to short days or she is developing a reproductive infection. A clue that infection may be taking hold is runny poop. What does her poop look like? How about posting a photo of both the poop and the hen?

She stopped laying at the beginning of last Spring when the days were getting warmer and longer. Her poop looks normal and she looks fine (to me). It’s now been 9 months since her last egg. I’ll try to get a picture today or at least soon. Thank you for your reply!

What color is her comb? If she has stopped ovulating, the comb may be very pale and shriveled and dry appearing. That can happen if the ovary has been damaged in some way.

This is not a great picture but here she is with the rest of the flock yesterday. I’ll go out now and see if I can get one of just her. And maybe some poop. 🤣 Her comb has seemed as bright and tall as the rest of them! Thank you for your interest!

Okay here she is. Pardon the shadow of the run wire! Didn’t get poop today but really I see no difference in any of the poop.
PS I color their tail feathers to easily tell them apart. Mostly to tell Jan and Cindy apart but I don’t want Marcia left out. So she has some leftover orange on her tail feathers!

Got a poop pic! Followed her around waiting for it! This is zoomed in. It’s maybe an inch wide or so. Maybe inch and a half.
