Hen laying eggs wherever she pleases

I have had a hen that will lay random eggs all over my yard. I have stepped on some and it’s getting exhausting doing an Easter egg hunt every day. And the other day she stopped right in front of me and popped out the egg and walked away. Personally I felt offended. What can I do to fix it?

Try keeping her locked in the coop for a few days. She'll go to the nesting boxes to lay and so then when you let her back out, she should go back to the coop to lay her eggs cause she'll see that as the spot to lay.

Maybe fake eggs to show them where to lay? Fake eggs help our hens know to lay in the nesting boxes. So much so that when my brother watched our chickens two weeks ago and accidentally collected them, the hens were so confused on where to lay they laid all over in the coop!

What @AidKD said. It might take more than one round of it, but it's the most effective method I'm aware of.

She started laying in November of last year. We had her before chicken math struck when we only had four hens so she was definitely laying then. The random eggs started around march. I had seen her lay before.

Can she get into the nesting boxes? I have had two hens also lay pretty much everywhere but that was because they couldn’t get into the nesting boxes and I put one up on the floor and they have been using that ever since you could also try putting a few fake egg where you want her to lay

I added 10 birds and an extra coop. We got them in January and she seemed to be laying in the box
