Hen lays in the feeder - suggestions?

I would drill a hole in the bottom of a small bucket, preferably sized slightly larger than your feeder. Insert a stiff wire, I would suggest suspended ceiling wire, thru hole and attach to your feeder. Attach the other end to roof, rafter, etc. The bucket cover the top of the feeder and when you need to fill it simply slide the bucket up and out of the way.

I can't remember who posted it but I saw one feeder that the man went to the dollor store and bought a large funnel for the top of his feeders,it kept the chickens off the top

I have cut the bottom out of a plastic milk carton and used the top of the carton over the end of the feeder. Apparently, they don't find the handle and pouring spout comfortable to roost upon.
