hen leaking urates - looks like vent gleet - can you help me?

I have a hen going through this exact thing right now. She is on her second dose of antibiotics from the vet and has the urates everywhere. Vet says it is a UTI but nothing seems to keep it at bay. Did you ever end up finding out anything else or having success? I’m also having a hard time finding anything about this online.

Did you ever figure anything out with you hen? Mine is going through this same thing
This is an old thread, but I've dealt with this before. It is usually a yeast infection. I gave my girl monistat. I gave it to her 2x a day orally and on her vent (just a little, teeny tiny bit inside, too, with a gloved finger). Took a couple of weeks to get it cleared up. I also fed her a spoonful of plain yogurt daily for the probiotics.

You can also get medistatin, which is a med advertised for pigeons and smaller pet birds.

My 16 month old DEFINITELY has vent gleet: a lot of mucousy yellow & white discharge from vent, no brown poop at all... and dark pink butt with lots of feathers 'burned' away from the strong urates.
I started her on Monistat 3 days ago, 1/2" bead of the cream into her beak and a nickel size amount put up into her vent,... once in the morning and again in the evening. I also smeared baby desitin below the vent area that look so raw and painful, to repel those urates away from her tender skin to allow the area to heal. She seemed so soothed by it.
Fortunately she has been drinking water throughout this whole ordeal. Today she finally seems a lot stronger and more alert, even ate some scrambled eggs & yogurt! Luv.
I really hope in the next day or two she'll be up and walking around again. Fingers crossed!
