I agree with that. I have heard the same. You should try to let them supervised mingle or at least be able to hear and see each other a little each day so she doesn’t get totally knocked in the pecking order. You’ve covered all the things I was going to suggest, I was thinking possible tendon issue but you checked that. The only other thing I could think of is it possible she got her toe stuck somewhere? I know it sounds silly but from what you described that’s the only thing that comes to mind.

I thought that I would put her in the dog crate tomorrow and put her out near the run in the shade.

Thanks everyone! It's the dog house for her tomorrow lol. Fortunately it will fit in the run, which I would rather double protection from predators. I have to go to work but I don't want her to be lonely while no one is home. She's already low man on the totem pole. My rooster will be happy to see her in the morning. He was pretty upset when my daughter took her. I usually assess and fix people....thanks to all of you for helping me asses and fix my first chicken patient! I'll keep you posted!

Small update. She's about the same this morning. Still pretty gimpy but she is opening that foot up better than yesterday. She's not panting at all which tells me pain is controlled. She's had another round of aspirin. Shes out in the crate. Everyone ran to greet her. It was cute.

I do have some I think. I'll do that when I get home. She's eating and drinking. Poor thing is used to roosting and not sitting in her poop.....lol so I had that to clean up this morning. She is gonna need a good soak tonight. Lol I'll dump in some Epson salt and it'll be a double dip....lol

You could make a chicken sling for her to sit in so she's not putting weight on her leg.
