Hen Losing Weight

That is very interesting. When I asked about green poop my vet said it was from not eating enough calories and there was extra bile in there. E-Coli seems like it may be a better guess. I left a message with the vet to see what kind of bacteria she thinks we're dealing with. The receptionist told me an emergency case had just walked in the door so it may be a while.

Green poop can mean either. IMNSHO, if it's still green after being tube fed, it's infection, not starvation.

Yes I know. I read that last night and the vet is correct but it can be due to the infection. Even when know mine was eating enough because I fed her, she still had that green poop. Now it's back to brown.

This is when tubing becomes a diagnostic tool. Tube for a day and you should see a change in the poop.

Even when I was tubing and giving her the TMS antibiotic, it still was green. She was on it for a week. That might have been why it was not working, it was just the wrong kind of antibiotics for e.coli. Hmmmmmmmm

Ok I missed the call so I got a voicemail. She said she's not targeting e-coli and that it's very difficult to test for e-coli in a live bird. Then she repeated that twice and did not answer original question of what kind of bacteria we are targeting. I'll have to call again tomorrow. We shall see what new info she can tell me then.
