For starters yes I isolated her from my other girls. My other girls are completely fine. 9 mo blue producer hen symptoms started 2 days ago with walking out of coop and just laying down in the yard by herself. She would not move even when my dog ran by her. Only way shed move is if I picked her up. Yesterday 1/5/2020 I noticed she hadn't moved all day and when I picked her up and put her back down she just flopped on her breasts and didnt want to right herself. She doesnt want to outstretch her feet or legs shes been laying down and not wanting to move at all. Today 1/6/2020 I noticed under her vent in her lower tummy area it's totally swollen like a firm water balloon and she has this grity rough substance coming out of her vent. I've been giving her a mixture of plain yogurt and mineral oil as well as water via syringe. I gave her a warm bath in soap and Epsom salt to help her relax and when I gently inserted the tip of my lubed up finger into her vent a small amount of explosive diarrhea with grit came out.

Long story short: hen not eatting corn, layer crumble or anything on her own will not drink has swollen tummy and weird sandy grit coming out of vent. Will not stand up or move on her own. Symptoms progressed over 2 to 3 days.

This is the grity stuff coming from her vent.

To me it sounds like she is eggbound, except for the gritty stuff. You're doing all the things I would say you should do it she really is eggbound. Hopefully some experts will come around and help. (By the way, they will probably ask for a picture of her poo. You did great posting a pic of the gritty stuff!)
Good luck!

Sorry for a b hole picture!

I did probe alittle farther and didnt feel anything hard like and egg. The poop tht did come out was clear and full of tht grit. When I probed her yesterday I could feel (and forgive me for not totally knowing proper terms) first her bum hole then a pouch like thing tht had a small amount of grit in it, then lightly pressing downward I felt a smooth surface which i can only assume is her intestines and above tht another hole tht went farther. When i probed her today she had alot more grit in her little pouch thing and everything felt very swollen inside her.

Ah, then I am no help here. But I will watch this thread and wish you the best of luck:fl

How fine/coarse is the 'grit' ...like pieces of egg shell or larger?
The water belly is never a good sign, IMO, organ failure to due several reasons.
Not sure about what you felt inside, never been there.
Hopefully the others tagged will be of more help.

These things would be good to know:
How old is she and how long has she been laying??
What all and how exactly are you feeding?

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

She was laying for at least 5 months out of her 9 month life she had. It was like corse sand and not in distinctive pieces. We have no sand or anything like tht in our yard. They would get the purina layer crumble and cracked corn then plain dried mealworms as a treat. I'd take a picture of the bags if I wasnt at work. The weather here has been cold but got really warm like spring in almost a day. All my other girls are fine and laying eggs like normal.

She did pass away last night. Would yall recommend an autopsy to make sure it's not something contagious?
Is this the one that you just lost?

I left you a message on the other thread where you asked about necropsy. I'm sorry that she died. :hugs https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...to-this-question.1344151/page-3#post-22082377
