Hen Only makes male chicks

Interesting,, I too have a hen that I think produces only males, but have not tried to prove it. And if she is you cant change her mind. As I have read it is the hens choice as to male or female,,,

I have read a bit on incubator temps being able to hatch more females or males by adjusting the temp a few points high or low. I have not been able to reproduce what they said, I still get 50% average on my hatches, IMHO it does not work.

TinaHail How old are these chicks? Why do you think they are all male? Pics,,,

I have hatched too many broods to think a hen producing eggs at normal rates will produce such skewed ratios towards males. It is possible the hen has an allele that is lethal when crossed with a male of a particular genetic background but then you have have a low hatch rate. The only thing I have seen that supports male only offspring produced involved very, very old hens that can produce only an egg or two before going broody. Such hens might have accrued mutations in germ line involving the W chromosome making resulting embryos nonviable.
