Yep he is a pure elk hound! My aunt and uncle had 2 males imported about 9-10 years ago one died and he is getting old so they imported a girl and had 2 litter they kep the first pick of the litter and the second year ingot pick of the litter and they kept the 2nd boy. Took many hours but he now at times thinks he is a chicken
And loves his chicken friends

This pic confirms that you have 'black sexlinks'. Barred hens bred to non barred roosters produce chicks that are sexable by coloring. The black and gold is a pullet. The barred (black with white 'bars') is male. 

Well shucks! I really was taking a liking to "him" i really do hope you are wrong as im not alloud to have roosters in my area.. But you really sound like you know what you are talking about! Thx for the help!
