She confirmed this today actually and finally laid an egg. I had thought she was but then started to worry when she still hadn't gotten around the laying any eggs. All of the other all gotten at the same time had long since been laying, she was apparently waiting for her opinion of when spring was here.
She was definitely a female. She had rounded feathers and nothing that told of her being a male. Being late to lay is not strange at all, a lot of chickens will wait until there is warmer weather and more sunlight.
 
He's got a pea comb (or a heterozygous pea comb), which suppresses the growth of wattles, to a degree. It is also small in size by itself. He's also bearded, which has the same affect. He might eventually grow some visible wattles, but they will never be huge
Wyandottes were bred in the 1800’s in upstate New York specifically not to have the traditional comb due to frostbite.
We have 2 baby black ones and I just found this information out!!!

BTW, Vaseline on combs and wattles during frigid temperatures!!!
