they are all 8 weeks old - so the production reds all look to be pullets? The white cochin is trying desperately to crow and is the bossiest.

Ok - I think both white birds are roosters. Cochins develop slower than most other breeds, so I think you have a lot of red there for 8 weeks. Here is a pic of one of my 7.5 week buff cochin pullets (ChickenPantz) to compare:




Now, leghorns on the other hand, develop quickly so it is conceivable that an 8 week old would have a larger comb, but it shouldn't be soooo red. I think they are both males. all others are pullets.

Yep,,,while I was waiting to see what the white cochin would prove to be as it practices its morning sounds I was greeted yesterday afternoon by the smallest chicken in the bunch, a white bantam plymouth rock....who crowed several times just perfectly....he did it again when I opened the pop door this morning....he will be delivered during the lunch hour to a little farm outside of town where the farmer is willing to take him into his flock.

this chick is 17 weeks old and was hoping its a she but now im not sure cuz of the tail feathers can sumone help although the comb is still small
