Hen? Or Rooster? Cuckoo Marans

Enough replies say it’s a cockerel, so I’m going with that. I have more questions. The feathers have rounded tips; not pointy tips that I read are indicative of cockerels. The tail feathers are long, but I’ve read that they are long on both genders. The saddle feathers are the feathers on the back (as in where you would put a saddle, right?). What is it about the feathers that causes the certainty it is a cockerel. Thanks for your time on this. I appreciate it a lot.
You can see the narrower, pointed sex feathers coming in all over his body. Those feathers are short now, just starting to grow in, but you can see them high up on the saddle, in the hackle, and on the back and top of the wings.

There are two other ways you can tell this is a male. Large, very red comb and wattles is one. The other is that all purebred barred and cuckoo varieties have different barring patterns in the sexes. The boys are lighter and have wider white bars while the females are darker and have wider black bars.

He's a nice looking cockerel and probably would make a good rooster if you can keep him.

Definitely a cockerel. The saddle feathers are proof positive.

Your cockerel's saddle feathers are just starting. As he matures those saddle feathers will continue getting longer and will start draping down as with this legbar rooster. These are easy to see because they are not only more mature and longer but are also a different color.
