Hen or Rooster that is the question

    Have 14 chickens that are (17) weeks old and did remove a barred rock rooster a week ago that was crowing, now the large Delaware in the attached photo appears to be breeding the rest of the hens, like she may be a " He". all the chickens I have are the same age (17) weeks old. Have not heard this Delaware crow, so thought it was a Hen. Tail feathers are longer than they appear because of photo angle.

    X 2 - the lack of crowing is likely due to having been subordinate to the recently removed rooster - now that the dominant roo is gone, he will likely begin crowing soon.
