I would get him a couple girls.

He is 100% a boy, sorry.
The pro is- he will be very very colorful and beautiful. He still is a couple months from full adult plumage and colors.
It is up to you as for getting girls.... right now he would not really know what to do with them so one option could be just keep him as is- he does look happy and see how his personality turns out. If he doesn't attack or you have to/decide to get rid of him then you can decide whether to keep him as bachelor or get girls when he is mature.. But chickens are fun....
The girls can be anything you fancy, egg layers like a barred rock, sex links, or some breed you think is pretty or... does not have to be a game hen. A hen is a hen to roosters. The only thing to consider is most breeds are nowhere as athletic and agile as games so most breeds definitely need a predator proof coop for night time at least. He will learn to sleep in there with the girls.
Good luck and hope this is a great start to a chicken hobby for you guys! btw my first chickens were games from stock sadly used for fighting- I was a little kid and just wanted some of Grandma's chickens sooo bad and it was the start of my chicken addiction.

thank you for everyone's replies and advice. assuming its a roo I have been following the advice I have read and carrying him around while I feed the horses in the morning. no signs of any type of aggression and I would like there not to be! and yes everyone is very right chickens ARE fun. who knew lol
