I am new to registering to this site, but have been reading some of the posts, and they have been so helpful!
We bought 3 day old chicks June 24th, 1 black sex linked and 2 ameraucanas.
Any way to tell whether the ameraucanas are female or male at this age? When do they crow or show evidence that they male? I don't want the children to get too attached if they have to relocate, as we are city dwellers and ours are backyard chicks.
Both have upright tails, neither have combs or wattles yet.
I will try to add pictures.
Thank you!

Ameraucanas are notoriously hard to tell the sex early on from what I have read. I imagine by 12wks you would start to see some rooish feathers coming in and probably hear some crowing (but not always) from any roos. Some birds will show signs earlier and some later but 12wks is what I was told by several people when I asked this same question.
