Hen pecking my kids

I hear you. We won't hesitate if she continued to hurt the kids. She hasn't pecked since the day I wrote this post and started poking her back or just pushing her away with my shoe.
The bleeding part is hard to relate to, but the behavior as described is likely learned by getting food rewards. I can train them out of it pretty quick but little kids at 2 years not old enough. I would keep such little ones away from birds you do not know very well and still supervise. What I would do is look at you past interactions with pullet to determine how she was conditioned to peck so aggressively. I have a good guess.

Rhode Island Reds tend to be more assertive, hence the cause of only her pecking. I do recommend showing her who's boss though!

No pecking from her again today thus far. My little ones even sat in the grass with her and no pecking at all!
