Hen pulled out her entire beard?

My 1 year old EE, Vanilla, has decided to pluck out her whole fluffy beard. I know it’s not another chicken…I’ve watched her do it.

Why has she done this?? Her beard was so luxurious and boofy. I miss it.

Mine have been doing this, too. Not the full beard but enough that it has become evident to me.

I don’t know how she does it. It’s like she inverts her face and plucks it off. It’s so weird. Her neck must be flexible. But she just plucks it right out:
