Not sure if this is normal but my only white Americana hen is plucking her self she is a yr an half old and the only chicken out of 13 doing it? Any help is appreciated! Thank you,
Ryan!
Ryan!
The only time I've seen this is if she's lacking protein or when she's broody and on her eggs. If she isn't broody then she may need additional protein if she's not getting it adequately through her feed. Boiled eggs are a good protein source, mealworms, or just simply a feed with higher protein content. Not sure if this is normal but my only white Americana hen is plucking her self she is a yr an half old and the only chicken out of 13 doing it? Can you post any pictures?
Are you sure she is pulling out her feathers? It looks like she is molting.
