Hi everyone! I’m in a little bit of a panic rn so I’ll keep this brief. I hatched three chicks under a broody hen the other day. Today I went out and saw she left the nest and the chicks were huddled together for warmth. I put her back in and she stood on one of the chicks necks and wouldn’t get off!! (Chick is ok! I moved her off of it) Idk if it was on purpose or not, but she wouldn’t let them back under her either, I had to put them in myself. They’re only like two days old, I’m thinking of borrowing a brooder plate off a friend and taking them in myself. Is this a good idea, or will I make her more upset? She’s raised a clutch before and was an amazing mother, so I’m a bit conflicted.
