Hen sitting on unfertilized eggs!

We have a hen that is sitting on eggs. We do not have any roosters and they are never out of the enclosed run. Will she eventually stop sitting?

Personally, I would take away the eggs and even the nest box for a few days if necessary to break her of this. If they rot and explode, you will be smelling it for a few days in the coop, and its not a nice odor at all.
