Hen slowly starving help

I have a bantam hen not sure what kind one of the first chicks I got almost 4 years ago. She is slowly starving she eats I make sure to put her and Mr Greystone seperate so they can and make sure she has plenty of water she does not have mites or lice and do not think she is wormy. I felt of her crop and it is not hard but it does feel grainy or like sand is in there she is nothing but skin and bones I have got to figure out what is wrong she is slowly starving. We do not have a vet that knows anything about chickens.Any advice would appreciated.

She is at least 4 years old right? Has she ever been dewormed? Chickens do get worms and that is the first thing I'd consider and treat for so at least you know that base is covered. At her age there are several things that can cause weight loss so you have to start with the most obvious possibility and go from there. Is she still laying?

Like cafarmgirl said, start with the most obvious. You'd kick yourself if she died from a worm overload!

i wormed her about a week ago when i noticed she was looking something was wrong she is very tame as mrs greystone and mr greystone were the first 2 bantams we got so they have been handeled alot. I see her eating but she is starving she os nothing but skin and bones I do not know what to do.Mr Greystone covets her up with his wing any thing else I moght try I am really desparte how old os normal for chickens any other ideals would try anything thanks

Did you worm her orally with Safeguard or Valbazen?

I got something from the vet to worm her it was oral i do not know name he just asked how much she weighed and put some in a bottle and no she is not laying i know she is eating some i scambled an egg and have been giving her baby chick food and making sure no one else can keep her away it or bother her. Should get some of the wormer posted above and do ot again where do you get it at thanks

Any feed store should have the Fenbendazole 10%(Safeguard or Panacur, liquid or paste) in the cattle, goat and horse section. Don't let anyone try to sell you Wazine, it only gets roundworms.

I just went through a two week period with a
sick hen. She was fluffed up&laying down alot so I thought she was broody. She is 2yrs old. I learned alot in the past 2weeks which I will share. Some may not apply & you may already know these tips but I just found out & it could help. First worm you birds, next research best way to get nourishment into your sick one. I googled alot & found lots of info. Apple cider vinegar in water helps w/paracites, however if a bird has sour crop then apple cider vinegar can cause more discomfort. It's a trial &error! I read about Kefir Grains, I got it in milk form & used eye dropper to get it into her. The Kefir has more probiotics than yogurt. Best of Luck!
