My black sexlink was laying an egg every day. For the past month she hasn't laid a single one. My production red hasn't laid any eggs at all. The hens are 6 months old. They're on a high protein layer feed too. Are they okay or is there something wrong?

Looks like snow there, has it been cold for long?

This happens to chickens when they get scared. If a chicken gets scared badly or just in general scared they’ll stop laying eggs for a while

Yes trauma and/or unsettlement can make this happen too but I do think it's worth thinking about other possible reasons...

It’s just the time of the year. It’s colder and they usually slow down or stop laying at this time. What state are you located in? It looks like snow is on the ground so that would be the problem.

Yep, just what I thought.
(I like your profile picture, by the way!)

So, nothing to worry about, they may have been late layers anyway....

I'm in Nebraska. It just started snowing and getting cold

:)
Cold or wintry weather can cause it, mild illness, draughty sleeping conditions, bullying, worms...
NatureGirl74, have you seen any evidence of these?
There poop is really dry most of the time but is occasionally super runny. Our dog tries to catch them, but they stay in the coop and in the run all the time. Would that scare them enough to stop laying eggs?
