there is a thread over on the "feed"... we were talking about hens with spurs... i got to get a picture of mine too...
my andalusians HENS have the begining of spurs like that,, and i am gonna check my OEG hens too...

Hens grow spurs when roos aren't present in order to show dominance.

Well I'm glad the ladies grow some gear to protect themselves XD

My two German Spitzhauben hens have spurs, only one each though. I also have a few roosters, so do you think genetics could have something to do with it, or just a tom-hen?
