I gave her some in her mouth . She was eating and drinking, she spent some time in one of the nesting boxes today , resting which was good.

She does good for a while straighter neck then by end of day its curled again, keeping her stress free as possible, she is still eating and drinking the water has powdered vitamins in it from the feed store for chickens

She is still getting her nutri drench, still eating and drinking. If she isn't stressed her neck is pretty good. If i try to give her the nutri drench she gets stressed and her neck twists more. I feel so bad for her, I'm trying to help her and i give her the nutri drench at bedtime so she isn't stressed but she is still getting stressed

I got the poultry nutri drench and put it in their water. I am to give her directly 1ml in her mouth correct?

Dosage is 1 ml for a 3 lb chicken. If she is heavier, you could give a little more. Wry neck can last a few days or weeks. Sometimes it never goes away, but it has just been a few days. There are other brands of poultry vitamins in powder form that can be added to the water, or even to the feed. Selenium is found in eggs, ground meats and nuts, tuna and salmon, and other foods. Since the poultry vitamins don't always contain selenium, you can just give a small amount of a selenium rich food each day. It doesn't take much selenium, though. It might be less stressful to put the vitamins in the water or food. Good luck, and keep us posted on how she is doing, or if any other symptoms develop.

I have powdered poultry vitamins in the water and the nutri drench,
Can i put some sort of neck brace on her to keep her neck straight? Or would that hurt her? She is eating and drinking i just feel so bad for her

I would use either the Nutridrench or the poultry vitamins, but not both. Since the wry neck is a muscle contraction caused by a neurological condition, I don't believe that a neck brace would work.

Purina has been on the FDA recall list a number of time s for nutrient deficient feed. I don't know why so many instances of symptoms in relation to Encephalomalacia are regularly referred to as "wry neck". Even if one pullet is getting less to eat from scant amounts of Vitamin E in a formulated feed, or being fed other foodstuffs to prevent adequate uptake of nutrients, it will show symptoms where others may not.

Oh lovely now i have to follow chicken food like i do the dog food recalls.. Grrrrr. Ok so what is a good food to feed? I have a tractor supply near me and a farmside supplies which is a small mom n pop feed store..

Tonight i brought Dora in the house, she is in Rufus's crate in our spare bedroom. Wind chills tonight are-20 and she needs warmth . I honestly dont think she will make it. She got her nutri drench and i fed her crumble crushed up in warm water and scrambled eggs as a gruel, she ate and got her fluids but is thin, i dont think she left the coop today to eat or drink

I'm going to do everything i can to help her survive

Keep in mind the causes of wry neck symptoms. Mareks disease can be one of many things that cause those symptoms. Recently, a woman who had treated her hen with wry neck for 2 weeks, got a necropsy done which showed probable Mareks or avian leukosis.
