Some forms of canker can be resistant to metronidazole, the ingredient in Aviotrich I recommended. I have beat canker every time with metronidazole before. For very resistant strains of canker, there are other options like Ronsec: http://www.jedds.com/-strse-1046/RONSEC-50-ct./Detail.bok and a few others off the same site. Don't procrastinate though. You want to take care of it asap.

I think you should send a sample of the pus to one of the 4 UC Davis labs and have them tell you what it is. If this bird dies, you should definetly use the free necropsy service that they offer.
