hen with bad leg i need advice

I have a cochin hen about 4 or 5 i posted about her and another probem last night. She was fine coming out of the coop and later could not walk; Tonight I checked each leg carefully and on the bad side where the upper leg joins the body it feels like it is not in socket either that or it is broke there. She holds the leg up and can bend it slightly but does not use her toes. The leg and foot is nicely warm like the other one. We have no vets around here that work on chickens that i am aware of. my vet retired and he would check them out. i notice if i put pressure on that area she winces. I dont know if a sling of some sort would be good so she can let it down or not. if out of joint could it work back itself? If anyone has had anything similar or knows of something i could try i would really appreciate it. thank you donna

If it's a break or a dislocation, you probably need a vet or at least someone with some kind of medical training. If that isn't possible, maybe try to make a cast, but meantime, I'd put her in a small box so she can't move around too much & injure it further. I hope she recovers for you.

thank you for your reply. I have her confined in a small dog house with wood chips . I don't know of any vets that will work on chickens in our area. Kojak did you say you had a similar problem.
