Hen with gross chunks in throat and gasping

Ok I found the plain metronidazole at another store woot woot! Heading home now. Any idea how much tsp if the dose is 250 mg? I have no way to weigh it out.

What does the label say? It should say how many mg there are in one gram. Let me know and I'll figure it out for you.

The bottle has 97 g in it. Theres 1000 mg in a g. Mg are weight and tsp is volume, too complicated for my mathematically challenged self!

If the powder is like sugar, flour or corn starch I could weigh a 1/4 gram and let you know what it fits into (1/3, 1/2, 1 teaspon), just let me know what it seems like to you.

FYI, I have an accurate gram scale that I use for this sort of thing.

I read your post wrong... Somewhere your bottle should say how many mg of metronidazole there are in one gram. The powders I found doing a quick search have 300mg per gram and 500mg per gram. The one below has 300mg in one gram, but they provide a scoop, so no weighing needed.

Pure metronidazole should be 1/2 tsp equals 250 mg. There is a fairly wide safety margin with this drug. Kathy, do you have your directions for tube feeding with a syringe? I think that may help too.

I have links to tube feeding and a link to worming using a 1ml syringe, what do you think would be better? If she were mine, I would mix up the amount and put into a 35ml syringe and tube it, but I tube every day, so it's easy for me.
