Okay. That won't hurt your bird, but is actually about 500 mg dose. Next dose, take 1/8 tsp, then drop about half of that back in it's container. That is close enough to 250 mg. Add just enough water to liquify it, draw it up in your syringe without a needle, and squirt it down the bird's throat morning and evening for 5 days. Be careful not to aspirate the bird. Keep us updated on your bird's condition. I know that must have been frustrating, but now you should be on the road to recovery. Good luck.Ughhhh...great, I hope the added whatever is ok. It says only the met is the active ingredient.

Thanks for your help. I went ahead and gave her 1/4 tsp. I hope that was ok....
Meanwhile, you can add vitamins-electrolytes and probiotic powder to the waterer, and encourage the bird to eat.

The grown ones are all free range, and the young ones are kept in a very clean and dry run. Now I have a chick who is sitting around ruffled and breathing heavily and gasping a bit. No other symptoms. I looked in its mouth to see if she had any cankers and it is clear. I treated for cocci about a week and a half ago because a couple other chicks were droopy and poor, I assumed it was cocci. One of those chicks died, the other had recovered and was doing fine, now today he is listless and off. He is eating. The rest of the chicks in the run are well and acting normally. I have another pullet (silkie) who I think has a vitamin deficiency. (It all started after the cocci treatment) She is doing much better since I started giving her the vit E and selenium treatment, along with other vitamins and electrolytes. She is eating and drinking very well, she just seems to have some neurological challenges still. My living room now has 3 separate chicken hospital totes! I don't know what to do for the little one who I just brought in. It's under a heat lamp for now.
