This is my Easter Egger, Bunny. She has had this lump on her face for 2-3 days now. We think it got bigger since yesterday.

I just put some bacitracin on it, as I think I see a tiny puncture. It’s not bleeding. Could be a bee sting or maybe she got pecked and it’s infected. Not sure.

What do you think are next steps?

I never would’ve thought to look in her mouths. It looks awful. :(

The flock is Mareks positive. I hope it’s not that.

It could possibly be a tumor. How does her beak smell? Canker smells bad, and usually leaves yellow plaques inside the beak, throat and crop. Wet fowl pox can look very similar, but you would have seen some fowl pox scabs during hot mosquito weather.

Ok just checked on her and smelled her mouth. It’s quite smelly. She also now has yellow gray mucus in her mouth.

She is quite thirsty, drinking up the water I’ve got in with her. I added poultry cell and hydro hen so not sure if she just thinks it’s tasty.

I’m leaning towards canker now? Idk. Keeping her separated and trying to figure out if I should medicate her.

It seems like all the anti fungal meds have a lifetime egg withdrawal. Not sure what to do.

Ok so Miss Bunny is still doing well. Eating and drinking great. I managed to sneak a peek inside her mouth just now and it is looking better! This picture sucks but best I could do by myself lol. She is NOT a lap chicken. ;)

Nice pink tissues coming back in the area and just a little yellow green dot in the middle. Her cheeks still swollen. I’m hoping whatever this infection is will clear up soon.

Bonus pic of angry Bunny face in a towel straight jacket.

It's weird if the infection on the inside came from that puncture you saw on the outside. Maybe what you put on the outside is taking care of it though. Did you put anything on the inside? It's marvelous it's going down though!
