So my tetra tints and ri reds are just starting to lay. I have 6 hens and getting one egg right now they are about 20 weeks old. Some of the hens are squatting and putting out their wings a little when I come up behind them at night to lock them up. They are acting like I'm the rooster. Not sure if its just hormones or what's going on but seen fine other wise and are not egg bound.

Hie and welcome!

It's completely normal and is just a sign that they are maturing and ready to lay. It's a "submissive" or "egg" squat - and, yes, it's reacting as they would to a rooster's approach.
