Hens laying in winter-ok?

My three hens are still laying an egg a day and it’s winter? Is it okay? I thought they needed to “rest.” They have an acre to free range all day and go to bed in their coop at night. Their layer feed is in their coop. I have water bowls all over.
I have 10 girls, all 7 months old and they are laying. Though, my amount of eggs differs each day, from 4 -10. Apparently, they are finding enough calcium and protein, despite being winter. Enjoy it! 💃🕺

My Black Sex Linked Pullet laid an egg a day since starting.. She'll be a year old in a few months, so I expected that. The Black Mixed hens, now a year old, laid an egg every day or every other day, and are now picking up the pace as the days lengthen. I wasn't worried about supplemental lighting, but let nature take its course. I think that's the healthiest way to do things for them. The black hens came off a breeding farm and were in not so great shape, but.. after a rest, good food and sunshine, they have all come through like champs.

Perfectly normal for pullets (females under a year) to lay in winter. It's once they hit adulthood that they'll slow down or stop during winter, which is why many of us keep flocks with staggered ages, in order to keep some egg production going in winter.
