Hello, I let my girls out this morning and noticed 2 of them acting odd. There was a lot of yellow diarrhea with a little bit of solids on the dropping boards under them both. I’ve been checking their crops daily and I noticed their crops weren’t fully emptied this morning. They were small, but felt normal. I just treated one of my hens for sour/impacted crop, but these 2 hens don’t seem to have the same symptoms. The yellow diarrhea has me concerned. I started treatment this morning with corid. I just had a fecal float test done about a week or so ago on my sick chicken with sour/impacted crop just to make sure that’s all it was and it came back negative. What do you guys think? Should I do another one on one of theses girls? Do you think it’s Coccidiosis?

Sorry your girls are not feeling well.:(How are they acting? Tails down, wings down, lazy? Can you post some pics? How old are they? When was the last time they laid? Hopefully some of the more experienced folks will pop on.

So they are both 6 months old, they both laid today. The one is kind of slow, walking around kind of eating. She seems off and quiet, but not as bad as my other one. She just stands and puffs up.

From my experience She is standing like she has worms,But we have much more knowledgeable people here. Maybe see what they think. She is a pretty girl.

Something to add, both of these girls got ahold of a black widow spider yesterday afternoon. Idk if that has anything to do with this or not.

Thank you! Wouldn’t they all have worms then? I just had a fecal float test done a week ago on another sick hen and it came back negative.

That is why I thought others might have some other ideas.I did have one chick with cocci while all my others were fine. The spider? I don't know, but I would be worried about that too.

They were perfectly fine yesterday, droppings were normal, behavior was normal, then this morning 2 of them are suddenly sick and my poor coco is really sick!:(

Spider bites? Have you looked that up? We don't have them here, fortunately.
Fecal tests should likely have found parasites if present, but running another from your sickest bird may be a good idea.
Anything else eaten recently? Food or plant toxins?
If one does die (hope not!) have her necropsied for answers.
Meanwhile, fresh water and yummy food.

I’ve read where if they eat a black widow and it doesn’t bite them they will be fine, but if it does, it could kill them. That’s they only thing I’m aware of that they ate yesterday. I haven’t given them anything new.
