Hens lost their leader today

I had to remove my rooster as he was getting extremely aggressive to humans- he was an awesome leader for my hens though. He left today and my 4 girls seem lost without his guidance. Will they establish a new leader hen perhaps?

I think you should get a new rooster. Brown leghorn and Easter egger roosters seem nice.

As Aart said, they’ll get over it. It may take a few days to a week to reestablish their pecking order, but they’ll be fine.

They might just establish a new lead hen, we have a couple dominate females in the flock

At least your happy to get rid of a aggressive rooster... those are always hard to deal with. So nice when little and change faces when grown.
