Hens not laying

Hello all! We have 5 hens, about 24 weeks old, and none of them are laying yet. We raised them from chicks so we’ve been patiently waiting for eggs but now I’m a little concerned we’re doing something wrong. We did just move from Colorado back to Texas but that was about 2 months ago. They have access to plenty of fresh water, access to food, they get treats like meal worms and watermelon, still nothing. Any thoughts or advice?

Are their combs turing red? Do they squat? What breeds do you have? Egg laying start varies from breed to breed.

Sorry I wasn’t sure if I should include the breeds! Haha 2 are speckled Sussex, 2 are Rhode Island blues and 1 is a Wyandotte.
They have been squatting, the RIB’s combs are very red! But the speckled Sussex’s and the Wyandotte have a lighter comb.

Not quite mature yet. You'll likely get eggs from the ones with much redder combs sooner rather than later, however shortening fall days can delay laying onset.

The heat down here will also make hens slacken off. The past 2 months have been warm where I'm at in southern arky.

Right now your birds are still young, just give it time and they will do their thing when they are ready.

UPDATE!: All five of my crazy ladies are now laying Yay!
