I am new to raising chickens. I started with 8 chicks and 3 months later I grew tired of buying eggs so I added 4 laying hens to the flock. The hens layed 3 eggs the first day, 2 the next, and 1 for a few days later. Now it has been 2 weeks without any eggs and I am wondering what I may be doing wrong.
I have them set up in a coop with a fenced in yard that they can run around in. I have water and food in the coop and through food in the yard so they can scratch/eat while out in the yard, I have even been giving them dried meal worms for a treat but still have no egg production.
The 8 younger chickens were peeking at the older hens at first and I figured that the hens were stressing and that is the reason they stopped laying but now they are all getting along and still no eggs.
How long will I have to wait until they start laying again?
Also, is there any thing else I should be feeding/doing to help them produce eggs?
